 There are so many good places to eat and drink close to the cottage so we have just given you a few recommendations for places we go back to time and time again.

 Rhino’s Roadhouse at Bewdley Map

A Bewdley institution for too many years to mention this is the place to go for amazing wings. If you love fish go for their halibut on a Friday. Or just go for breakfast any day. Great customer service from friendly servers. - Website

 Muddys Pit BBQ at Keene Map

Muddys may be a bit out of the way but it is so worth the drive! The best burnt ends I have ever eaten.  But the brisket and beans (and everything else) are just out of this world. Facebook

Olympus Burger at Port Hope Map

If you fancy a great burger this is the place to go. Regularly top of the Trip Advisor ratings for restaurants in Port Hope. Canadian Living rated them as having the best burger in Canada in 2017. Look on their website for the secret menu too Website

Rey Ray's at Port Hope Map

This taco shack does amazing food. The owner makes all the tacos and the fillings are so tasty especially the Chicken Tinga. As for the polenta fries - just outstanding. Eat on the deck or take out. Website

This local pub serves an ever-changing selection of beers so if you like something a little bit different from the normal domestic beers their choice from local craft breweries is amazing. They also have a trivia quiz on Tuesdays and live music every Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Website

Our latest breakfast discovery and now our first choice. Ganarascals menu has added Southern charm to the traditional Canadian breakfasts you get everywhere. The food is great quality and the servers are really friendly. They also offer smoked tofu as a protein option and are nut free. Website

This breakfast/lunch place has a great reputation for locally sourced, healthy, delicious food. We’ve only managed lunch so far but will be back to try the breakfast. Website

This bar and kitchen prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients. Super friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. What more do you need? Website

St Veronus Café & Tap Room at Peterborough Map

If you love Belgian beers and food you have to go to St Veronus. This was one of the first bars we discovered when we first visited the area and the variety of beers and knowledge of the serving staff is unparalleled.  Whenever we are here a trip to St Veronus is always fitted in. The burgers are amazing and so are the mussels. But whatever we have chosen we have never been disappointed - Website

The closest is at the tennis courts at Gores Landing on the junction of Hwys 9 and 18. Map

Only open Friday - Sunday it does the best chips and poutine.
